First Spelling Bee - Tue., December 5th, 2023

The DPS First Spelling Bee is an oral spelling bee that will take place on Tuesday, December 5th at Denver Language School. To participate, make sure that your school is registered through the Scripps National Spelling Bee website. Second Spelling Bee - Mon., January 22nd, 2024

The DPS Second Spelling Bee is an oral spelling bee that will take place on Monday, January 22nd at Westerly Creek Elementary. To participate, make sure that your school is registered through the Scripps National Spelling Bee website. If you are not registered and would still like to participate or have any questions, please contact us at theschaeferprogram@gmail.com.

City Written - Fri., February 9th, 2024

The DPS City Written Bee is an written bee that will take place on Friday, February 9th (location TBD). This written bee will determine the top 25 spellers in DPS that will qualify to the Colorado State Spelling Bee. To participate, you must make sure that your school is registered through the Scripps National Spelling Bee website. If you are not registered or have any questions, please contact us at theschaeferprogram@gmail.com.

Colorado State Spelling Bee - Sat., March 9th, 2024

If a student qualifies for the Colorado State Bee, there will be two components to the bee. An at-home, virtual written test and an in-person oral bee. If the student qualifies for the oral bee, they will be invited to join the bee on Saturday, March 9th, 2024.
